THIS is the empty shell of a barn in Margaretting after a fire took hold and raged for 16 hours.Fire crews from Chelmsford, Ingatestone and Great Baddow were called to the barn, situated at Bramble Hall, in Ivy Barns Lane in the village, at 4.49pm on Friday.The structure, which measures 20 by 10 metres, was found alight and contained about 150 tonnes of hay and straw along with machinery and cylinders.Crews were unable to save the barn or its contents.They allowed it to burn in a controlled...
