A woman has died following a fire on a houseboat in Brightlingsea.
Police were contacted just before 7.55am this morning, Friday, January 31, with reports of a blaze on the vehicle in Morgans Boatyard, Copperas Road.
A woman was rescued from the boat by firefighters and was given emergency treatment at the scene by police and paramedics as well as doctors from the Essex Air Ambulance.
However, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
