A BOAT has caught fire in Heybridge Basin this evening (September 10).The 30m vessel, which is on the mud with the tide out, is 70 per cent alight, according to Essex County Fire & Rescue.Two crews from Maldon and another from Great Baddow were called at 5.35pm and are using one hose reel to tackle the fire.It is not thought anyone has required medical attention as a result.
