Firefighters have rescued a teenager who was trapped up to his thighs in mud on the banks of the River Crouch.
The 14 year-old boy became stuck at around 5.14pm this evening near Pooles Lane in Hullbridge.
Two fire crews from Rayleigh Weir and one Leigh Water Rescue Team rushed to the area to help the youngster.
On arrival crews at the scene reported that the boy was "thigh deep in the mud".
