Fire crews from three different stations have tended to an overnight burning mound of horse manure.
Crews from South Woodham Ferrers fire station were first called to the blaze in the field in Leighams Road, in Bicknacre, which is near Chelmsford, at 6.03pm on Wednesday (July 22).
Firefighters, who used two hose reel jets on the pile, said approximately 50 tonnes was on fire.
