Firefighters tackled a large blaze in Tilbury this afternoon after a pile of tyres caught fire, disrupting motorists and rail commuters.
Fort Road is currently shut in both directions between Brennan Road and Ferry Road, while c2c services on the Fenchurch Street line were halted after a 200 metre exclusion zone was set up.
The line re-opened at around 1.40pm after the line re-opened.
Crews said the blaze involved a number of cylinders including an acetylene gas cylinder.
