A man died in a road crash on the A127 at Basildon yesterday evening (July 22)
Officers were called at about 6.50pm following reports that a car had left the Southend-bound carriageway near the junction with the A129.
The male driver of the vehicle, who is believed to be from south Essex, died at the scene.
Essex Police said it is thought that no other vehicles were involved.
The road was closed for several hours while police carried out investigations.
