Long delays are expected on the northbound stretch of the A12 this morning as traffic is diverted off junction 19 to avoid a serious accident involving a lorry.
The Essex A road is closed between J19 and J25, 120 Marks Tey.
The incident happened at 1.15am this morning as the lorry, carrying a full load of fruit, blocked both carriageways.
Three other vehicles were also involved, the Highways Agency said.
