Mill Road in Maldon is closed in both directions at the Park Drive junction, because of an accident involving a car and a bicycle.
The crash, involving a young cyclist and a blue Niassan Micra took place ahortly after 5.30pm today at the junction between Mill Road and Promenade Park.
The cyclist has been treated by paramedics at the scene and fitted with a neck brace.
He is expected to be taken to hospital shortly.
